Cybersecurity Skills Gap: Hacking the Security Supply Chain
Experts forecast that there will be 200 billion connected things by 2020. Software has entered the world of physical objects in all key sectors. As our dependence on technology increases, the need to secure the systems and platforms that host them get more urgent, and yet the growing cybersecurity skills gap has not been effectively addressed. How do we get a more diverse talent pool interested in a career in cybersecurity? What holds back underrepresented demographics and untapped talent? How can we build more innovative, cognitive diverse cyber teams?
Rosanna is an Architectural Engineer by training and holds a Masters Degree in Building Physics from Kyoto University in Japan. For the past several years, this certified MIT Master Trainer in Educational Mobile Computing, as well as EU Code Week ambassador, has led hands-on, result-oriented workshops in the areas of computer programming, data visualisation, the Internet of Things, and 3D design, to promote uptake of digital skills, particularly among girls and women. Today, she manages and develops curricula for the CyberWayFinder Training and Mentorship program, directly filling roles to increase diversity in cyber teams.
